Woodingdean Bowls Club is a recent Club in terms of age, having been founded in 1972.

The Club is located in facilities owned by Brighton and Hove Council.  The Green is a Public Green. Members carried out extension works to the Clubhouse in 1992 and so greatly improved the facilities. These included new changing rooms, larger seating and clubroom area. The bar and kitchen were modernised.

 

The work continues, 2006 saw the refurbishment of the gents toilet facilities and 2007 saw the completion of the patio extension, redecoration of the clubroom and changing rooms and an upgrade of the ladies washroom facilities.

2009 saw a external new storage unit, for all the outdoor gear, built and the wonderful gardens being replanted. 2011 will see garden set out again by our Gardening team of Jane & Robert.

 

The Club is located within a natural bowl of Central Park, literally central in the mainly residential  area of Woodingdean, east of the centre of the City of Brighton and Hove. The park itself has a play area for children, grass play area, hard court area (former tennis courts) and car parking for approximately 20 cars. There is a local convenience store adjacent.
